Thermocoagulation is the treatment or removal of unwanted skin imperfections or anomalies
The following skin imperfections are superficial which can be treated effectively by Thermocoagulation. The process will improve the skin’s’ appearance by reducing or eliminating those unwanted imperfections. At JAWY Aesthetic Clinic we are able to treat: visible facial veins or capillaries, skin tags, angiomas, milia, keratosis, angiokeratomas, open pores or unwanted piercings.
Thermocoagulation utilises the High-Frequency Current to discharge pin point heat energy to treat skin imperfections and collapse the spider veins upon contact. The energy created by the high-frequency current produces a thermal lesion and the immediate disappearance of the imperfection or vein while preserving the epidermis. All that may remain is a tiny circular red mark that disappears within hours post treatment to leave a micro-crust which itself disappears usually in a matter of days. The treatment is extremely safe and unlike other treatments do not pose risks of heat blisters or scarring.

All you need to know about Thermocoagulation
The procedure in most cases involves inserting a fine probe into the imperfection or anomaly, releasing a small amount of current; this will dry up the imperfection. Depending on the size of the imperfection treated and the intensity used, a scab will form. This is your body’s natural band-aid. Once the skin beneath is healed enough to be exposed to the elements, the scab will fall off on its own.
At JAWY Aesthetic Clinic we use the Apilus System for Thermocoagulation. This revolutionary device allows us to make use of 13.56 or 27.12Mhz current. This current speed allows for a virtually pain-free treatment. The fast speed of the current ensures that the body doesn’t recognise that a treatment is taking place.
When compared to other treatments, Thermocoagulation is more precise and directly treats the imperfection which means there is less collateral damage to surrounding tissue and also allows for fast healing. Most clients find the sensation quite gentle and say they feel slight heat and the treatment is virtually pain -free. A numbing agent can be applied prior to treatment to ease the sensation.
How long before I see results?
Results are instant. The treatment is very visual and you will notice the imperfection disappear as they are touched with the probe. This leads to a real “Wow!” response the first time the client looks in a mirror. This is a stark contrast to alternative treatments which can take 6-8 weeks and many sessions.
How long is the recovery period?
We appreciate that other treatments require up to 8 weeks recovery, during which time your actions can be severely restricted. As Thermocoagulation uses a very different technique there is no downtime at all, patients walk out of the treatment and back into their lives unaffected.
What is the difference between Thermocoagulation, Laser and IPL?
Thermocoagulation using the Apilus differs substantially from Laser and IPL due to the fact that the anomaly is being treated precisely instead of the whole surface area being treated, meaning that no healthy skin is damaged in any way. Thermocoagulation provides results instantly with no downtime.
